Moses Kuria Joins Azimio Coalition After Meeting Raila Odinga

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has announced his intention to join Raila Odinga’s Azimio Coalition. This revelation came after a meeting with the former Prime Minister at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi.

Kuria’s announcement follows his recent dismissal from President William Ruto’s Cabinet during a major reorganization prompted by widespread Gen Z protests.

During an interview with a local radio station, Kuria shared that the discussions with Odinga focused on national dialogue and his party, Chama Cha Kazi, aligning with the Azimio Coalition.

Explaining his decision, Kuria expressed confidence in the unity and direction of the current government, which now includes close collaboration with Odinga.

“My meeting with Odinga signifies my confidence in the new, broad-based government and the unity of our country,” Kuria stated.

Kuria also mentioned that their discussion covered various national issues, and he appreciated Odinga’s role in stabilizing the country.

“We discussed numerous challenges facing the nation. I thanked Baba for once again stepping in to save the country from potential self-destruction,” he added.

In recent appointments aimed at forming a more inclusive government, President Ruto nominated four senior members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to his Cabinet. These appointments include John Mbadi as Treasury Secretary, Wycliffe Oparanya as Co-operatives Secretary, Hassan Joho as Mining Secretary, and Beatrice Askul Moe as East African Community Secretary
