A dormitory at Cardinal Otunga High School in Mosocho, Kisii County, went up in flames Thursday night, just hours after the release of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported, though the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and security officers, swiftly arrived at the scene. The school, which has previously dealt with similar incidents, now faces renewed concerns over dormitory safety.
School officials told journalists that they will address the situation on Friday as investigations into the fire commence.
