VIDEO:’Arrest Me’- ODM Sec Gen Dares Live TV

Edwin Sifuna with Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei on Citizen TV on Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna lashed back at Jubilee leaders crying foul over his sentiments before Kibra by-elections, that allegedly incited residents to violence.

During an On interview on Citizen TV’s News Night, on Tuesday, Sifuna dared police officers to arrest him over his sentiments, if indeed he was at fault.

An undated video was shared online showing Sifuna ordering for two Jubilee leaders to be chased from Kibra during the November 7 by-election.

Sifuna, who was addressing a rally in the constituency during the campaigns, was heard instructing Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and ‘his boys’ to deal with Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

“If there is a problem with the utterances I made, let them arrest and prosecute me. They know where I live. We will face off in court. I am only responsible for the things I say. How you interpret is up to you.

“The people who had been given money to bribe voters were not going to do that in Kibra,” Sifuna stated during the interview, hosted by Waihiga Mwaura.

Nandi Senator and DP William Ruto’s close ally, Samson Cherargei, was also a guest on the show.

Sifuna further tore into Jubilee leaders who were lamenting over the outcome of the by-election.

“The Jubilee candidate in Kibra (McDonald Mariga) has already conceded defeat, why are others still raising issues?

“We have crybabies, people who are not ready to accept the election outcome in Kibra. When we say Kibra is our bedroom, it only means it is our stronghold. That does not mean that we locked out other contestants,” Sifuna affirmed.

Cherargei stated that Jubilee was investigating the violence in Kibra, and would release a conclusive report.

“We are still documenting the number of people injured in Kibra. Electoral violence in Kenya should come to an end. We are exposing ODM for who they are, not who they pretend to be,” Cherargei spoke.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah and a group of Jubilee Party legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday, November 12 , claimed that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his PS Karanja Kibicho orchestrated the violence witnessed during the Kibra by-election.
