Six suspects reportedly arrested in a bhang-smoking competition at a club in Murang’a were on Monday arraigned before a Kigumo court.
Appearing before Kigumo Law Courts Senior Resident Magistrate Agneta Ogonda, the six denied charges of being in possession of 146 rolls of bhang.
They were denied bond and the court directed that they be held for seven more days pending completion of investigations.
Police had initially arrested 23 suspects but, according to Makuyu OCPD John Onditi, only the organisers of the party, the owner of Le Zeros club and the disc jockeys (DJ) were charged.
According to the police boss, the group had organized a party at the club dubbed ‘Rasta Man Prayer Party’ where entry was rolls of bhang.
