A principal was arrested in Wajir on Monday on charges of defiling a KCSE candidate.
Idle Abdi Haret of Habaswein Mixed secondary school will be arraigned on Tuesday.
Sub-county commissioner Abdihakim Jubat said the candidate was admitted to Habaswein General hospital.
The incident was reported amid concerns of increased cases of teenage pregnancies.
Education CS Amina Mohamed, while in overseeing the opening of KCSE exam containers in Mombasa, said the matter is under investigation.
“My ministry is working on a policy that will be introduced to deal with teenage pregnancies in schools,” she said.
She said the policy will be rolled out at an “appropriate time”.
Some 20 primary school girls gave birth during the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams last week.
At least 664,585 candidates wrote their Mathematics paper in the morning. Chemistry is slated for afternoon.
