Migori governor Okoth Obado appeared before the Court today and denied charges that linked him with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend Sharon Otieno in Homa Bay.
Obado was charged for aiding, abetting and financing the murder of 26-year old Rongo University student Sharon Otieno who was tortured and mutilated with her seven-month-old baby being ripped from her womb on September 3.
Obado admitted he had an affair with Sharon and that the baby was his but denied anything to do with her killing.

Through his lawyers Mr Obado denied that he and others not before court murdered Ms Otieno between September 3 and 4 at Owade area in Rachuonyo.
His lawyers wanted him freed on bond so that he can continue with his gubernatorial job but the prosecution, led by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Jacob Ondari and Tom Imbali, opposed the bail application and applied to have Mr Obado remanded until Wednesday.
He was sent to a prison in Industrial area where he is expected to spend another night after his lawyers lost a bid to have him detained at the Gigiri Police Station where he spent 3 days in agony under police custody.
There was no VIP treatment at Gigiri police cells for embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
For a man used to the trappings of power, the finer things in life and the best of food, Obado’s three nights behind bars have been humbling.
He has been eating sukuma wiki and ugali since Friday evening when he was placed in a 20-man cell. He was joined on Saturday by 17 VIPs and two men arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Others in custody elsewhere in Sharon’s murder case include Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo.
He was the first to be arrested after Nation journalist Barack Oduor directly linked him to Sharon’s abduction and murder.
Oduor told police that it was Oyamo who lured him and Sharon to a hotel in Rongo, Migori county, before leading them into a Toyota Fielder, which was carrying the suspected killers.
Former Kanyadoto MCA Lawrence Mula, is also in police custody, together with Obado’s close aide Caspal Obiero, a clerk with the Migori government and Obado’s personal bodyguard, Eliud Okoth Omondi who was arrested on Monday 24.
Jack Gombe, a taxi driver, is also facing charges because he was the driver for the vehicle suspected to have carried the killers.
