President Uhuru Kenyatta has hinted that the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results could be released on Monday November 19, 2018.

Speaking during the unveiling of Gachororo PCEA Church in Juja on Sunday, President Kenyatta said “and when we will announce the results tomorrow” before realizing his error and pulling back, much to the amusement of the crowd, saying “ah, now what have I said?”

The Head of State urged those who sat the exams to be satisfied with whatever grade they rightfully scored, adding that the government will ensure they all proceed to secondary school.

According to President Kenyatta, every pupil will have the secondary school enrollment letters before Christmas celebrations.

“When we will announce the results, I want to tell our children that because we know you did your best, do not be afraid just because you attained a particular grade because, like I said, the most important thing is that everyone who sat the Standard 8 exam will be admitted to Form One,” said the President.

He reiterated that the government will continue to cover education expenses for students including their school fees and purchasing learning materials, further challenging parents to do their part by purchasing school uniforms and ensuring that their children are fed.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that our young children access basic education up to secondary level and the government will provide opportunities in the vocational centers, in universities. Let us not allow our children to loiter and instead, let them be in school,” he said.

President Kenyatta also lauded all education stakeholders involved in the national examination for showcasing professionalism and recording the lowest number of exam malpractices.

“There was very little cheating or abuse during this year’s national exams and I would like to acclaim all stakeholders who participated in ensuring achievement of all these,” he said.
