NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 14<\/strong> \u2013 Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has dismissed threats of impeachment over his outspoken stance on abduction cases in Kenya, saying he is unshaken by political maneuvers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muturi, who appeared at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices to record a statement regarding the abduction of his son last year, criticized the slow progress of investigations and the lack of accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the press after his appearance at the DCI Kilimani offices, Muturi revealed the ordeal his family endured during the months-long disappearance of his son, Leslie Muturi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was not sure whether he was alive or dead, making us anxious and leaving me, my wife, and my family in turmoil,\u201d Muturi stated. \u201cMore than six months later, no one has been charged, and nobody has explained why he was abducted or held incommunicado.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muturi\u2019s comments come amidst rising political tension, with National Assembly Chief Whip Sylvanus Osoro accusing him of politicizing the incident. Osoro claimed that Muturi\u2019s son was not abducted but arrested, further alleging that plans to impeach the CS are at an advanced stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rising Abduction Cases<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The CS\u2019s remarks have amplified concerns over abductions across Kenya, with Muturi calling on investigative and security agencies to prioritize resolving these cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DCI boss Mohamed Amin confirmed that the abduction case involving Muturi\u2019s son remains active but noted that progress has been hampered by limited statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cConsidering that only the son volunteered to record a statement, we wish to invite CS Muturi and any other person with information on the incident to provide their statements to DCI Kilimani,\u201d Amin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reassured the public that all reported abduction cases are under active investigation and reiterated the agency\u2019s commitment to ensuring justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political and Public Reactions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ICT Cabinet Secretary nominee William Kabogo criticized Muturi\u2019s public outcry, suggesting that the issue should have been addressed during cabinet meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Muturi stood firm, emphasizing the need for transparency and justice. \u201cThis matter is deeply personal to me as a father. I am committed to supporting every effort to ensure justice is served,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With abduction cases on the rise and public confidence in law enforcement waning, the CS\u2019s vocal stance has struck a chord with many Kenyans demanding accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
