Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has come out to speak how he is being intimidated following his move to prosecute senior government officials in the war against graft.
The DPP says that he is fearless and no amount of intimidation from any quarters will make him loosen the grip on corruption and organized crime.
“I am fearless and I will take anyone who is implicated or linked to corruption to court whether he or she holds a big position or not,” the DPP said.
Mr. Haji says that he only fears ‘Allah’, (God), adding that he will smoke out all people linked to corruption.
He has promised to be fair to all and ensure timely prosecution and justice to all Kenyans.
However, Haji failed to disclose individuals threatening him and his office but termed them as ‘big government’ officials facing graft charges.
The office of the DPP has in the recent days ordered for arrest and prosecution of top government officials linked to graft and other crimes.
Last month, Haji ordered for arrest and prosecution of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu who is facing corruption related charges and has temporarily blocked her prosecution.
The DPP is currently prosecuting Migori Governor Okoth Obado who is linked to the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
