Former University of Nairobi student leader, Samuel Ragira was allegedly shot dead by goons on Thursday evening at Club 36 market located opposite Nairobi Primary School.
Mr. Ragira, popularly known as OCS Ragira is reported to have met his death after confronting the goons whom he accused of terrorising traders at the market.
A number of leaders and social media influencers strongly condemned his killing and urged police to look into the matter.
In a previous post on Facebook, the student made bold claims that Klabu traders and students were being terrorised by the Mungiki under police watch.
“Students are being harassed and others losing their phones. We want to know why the police can side with people terrorising innocent Kenyans. Why should a mama mboga pay 10K to unknown people to do business?” read part of the post.
In response to this, a section of students at the University of Nairobi took to the streets to protest the murder.
The students blocked State House Road as they engaged police in running battles.
