Four people arrested over KCPE exam leakage in Nyandarua

Four examination officers at Hezta Group of schools in Nyandarua County were Wednesday arrested after they were found leaking some KCPE examination papers.

The four who include the centre manager, two invigilators and a supervisor were arrested and some answers written on toilet papers were recovered from teachers who were hiding in a house within the school compound.

It is alleged that the invigilators were taking pictures of the examination papers and sending it electronically to the teachers who would in return transmit the discussed answers back to the officers to pass to the pupils.

New invigilators were deployed to the school on Thursday.

On Wednesday while inspecting the issuance of the examination papers in Mombasa, Prof George Magoha warned if dire consequences to those found culpable of exam malpractice.

“There are hotspots. And going as per last year’s exam, the epicentre is in Migori, Kisii and Homabay. We also have problems in Garissa, Mandera and Wajir,” said Magoha.

The Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha cautioned parents against spearheading the vice.
