Kenyan Community in Ontario is dealing with a major blow after a Kenyan woman was found dead in Scarborough apartment building.
The 30-year old woman identified as Lorraine Kerubo Ogoti was found in an eighth-floor unit at a Scarborough apartment building on Tuesday afternoon.
Toronto police considered the murder as a possible murder-suicide after identifying the victim.
Police reports indicate that Kerubo had been stabbed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not said whether the victim was in a relationship with the man they say stabbed her.
A 40-year-old man was also found dead on the ground outside the same building where Kerubo was stabbed to death
That man has been identified as Mowlid Hassan. A post-mortem exam found his cause of death to be blunt-force trauma.
Police were called to the Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East around 2:15 p.m. after multiple 911 calls for unknown trouble.
On Wednesday, homicide detectives confirmed they had taken over the investigation and said there are no outstanding suspects wanted in connection with the case.
On Thursday news of Kerubo’s death were circulating on social media with Kenya Community in Ontario deeply saddened by the sad news.
According to trusted sources the deceased is still new in Canada when she met her untimely death. She has left on child.
