Police are looking for Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri after launching ‘mshenzi’ (fool) movement in reaction to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s utterances on Monday.
Police have been ordered to arrest him after he was spotted with a T-shirt written ‘Mimi ni mshenzi, je wewe mwana kenya?
(loosely translated: I am a fool what about you a Kenya?)
Ngunjiri staged a demonstration on Tuesday from Railways grounds to the CBD in Nakuru town donned in a white T-Shirt printed ‘TeamWashenzi’ accompanied by his supporters.
Uhuru, while in Mombasa, dismissed Jubilee MPs who were complaining of ‘starved’ development in Central Kenya.
“ I will ensure every corner of this country will get development. From Kisumu to Mombasa, from Moyale to Namanga. That way, these politics of patronage will end so that all areas can grow regardless of who is in power, Kwa hivo hawa washenzi waachane na mimi (let those idiots stop bothering me) ,” Kenyatta said as the public cheered him.
The President made the remarks barely a week after his local MP in Gatundu South Moses Kuria and his Bahati counterpart accused him of favoring Opposition areas at the expense of the Mt Kenya region where he had received more votes.
