IEBC has warned candidates in the Migori senatorial by-election of dire consequences that comes along with incidents of violence.
Candidate Eddy Oketch of the Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) recorded a statement on Sunday that his car was stoned while on the campaign trail in Wuoth Ogik in Suna West.
IEBC said it will disqualify candidates who incited their supporters to attack opponents.
Police Commander Joseph Nthenge said they were investigating the violence that erupted during Oketch’s campaign last Sunday.
Mr Oketch blamed the incident on rivals and requested police protection.
Ochillo Ayacko of ODM is receiving stiff competition from Mr Eddy Oketch of the Federal Party of Kenya who has deployed a chopper in his campaigns.
The Migori by-election will be held on Monday October 8 where the rivalry between Raila and Ruto is expected to play out.
Raila has been campaigning for ODM candidate Ochillo Ayacko.
Ruto is said to be backing Federal Party of Kenya candidate Eddy Oketch.
