The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned eight Busia Members of County Assembly over corruption allegations.
In the letter addressed to the clerk of the assembly the EACC said the MCAs should appear before it on Wednesday 12 September.
Through its twitter account on Monday the commission wants them charged with abuse of office, perjury and forgery.
“We are investigating allegations of corruption and forgeries in relation to supplementary budget of the county. To progress the investigation, kindly facilitate the following officers to appear for the exercise as indicated in their individual invitation letters attached,” the letter stated.
The eight are part of 27 Busia MCAs who face arrest for allegedly tampering with evidence in Governor Sospeter Ojamoong’s graft case.
The second term governor together with nine county officials were arrested on july 4.
