Back to School in style at inaugural KCO BBQ and Sports day event

The first Kenyan Community in Ontario BBQ and Sports day event  was held on Sunday September 2rd in Milliken Park. Scarborough,  a Toronto neighborhood in Ontario Canada with a record breaking turn out. Parents spelt a sense of gratitude as KCO added value to what have been deems as lack of youth engagement within the organization.

In his response to the record turn up, Wanjau who participated as well as volunteered at the event wrote ” The sports day was such a refreshing event, with a record Kenyan turnout that it felt like happening somewhere in Nairobi; with family members of all ages stepping out, blaring patriotic tunes by the van Rossis and local hits by Dj Solo, the nyama & kuku choma, games like Kati, sack race, Wazee 100m dash, tug-of-war! From all walks of life.

This is proof that the desire for togetherness is very much alive and things can only get better from here.
Umoja ni Nguvu!
Congratulations to the KCO board, all the organizers including Mkarimu Radio CEO, volunteers and all who attended. An exciting future ahead for Kenyans in Ontario.
Kudos 👍🏾🇰🇪🇨🇦”
